Former political prisoners have reached out to leaders in the European Union, as well as those in Great Britain, Switzerland, and Norway, urging them to take an active stance on the release of Belarusian political prisoners. As of the morning of October 26, 73 individuals had signed the appeal, a number that is likely to grow. The signatories include prominent figures well-known to the Belarusian public, such as Maryia Kalesnikava, Viktar Babaryka, Maryna Zolatava, Liudmila Chekina, and others.
