In August, Latvian border guards made a surprising discovery: a tunnel running under the border that cameras and observation towers couldn't detect. Soon after, they found another tunnel. In total, 43 people crossed into Latvia through these tunnels, and border guards said one underground passage took about a week to dig. Belsat visited the border area, spoke with border guards and residents, and observed the changes in border security since these discoveries.
