Belarus found itself among the countries with the lowest indicators of the level of democracy in the new study by International IDEA. Compared to 2020, the situation in the country deteriorated at once in several areas, and in terms of civic engagement, Belarus, together with Mali, showed the largest decline in the world. Belsat looked at what has changed over five years and how far Belarus lags behind neighboring countries.
