Journalist and poet Siarhei Sys worked at the Viasna human rights center for 17 years. He was once invited there by an old friend, Ales Bialiatski, whom they have known since their youth. Later, Bialiatski became the godfather of his daughter and was a witness at Sys's weddings twice. Last year, Sys became a foreman in a cleaning company. In a long interview with Belsat, he told how he experienced the loss of his usual job and started life almost anew, which helped him overcome depression, and also openly reflected on alcohol, betrayal, which his wife forgave, and love, because of which he ended up in a psychiatric hospital for the second time.
