The Belarusian Ministry of Education has chosen not to combat youth subcultures but rather to harness teenagers' interests for educational purposes. In their recommendations for the upcoming school year, students aged 10 to 17 have been categorized into groups such as anime fans, gamers, bloggers, beauty enthusiasts, and "intellectuals." For each group, the strengths and potential risks have been outlined, and teachers have been provided with strategies for engagement. The authors of the document refer to this approach as a "strategy of intelligent involvement and co-optation." We have reviewed the proposals and will highlight the main points.
