35 years ago, on August 25, 1991, Belarus declared independence. That day, the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the BSSR received the status of a constitutional act, and the creation of its own army, police, border guard service, and other institutions began. The way Belarus took advantage of the "window of opportunity" gives hope today as well.
