Following the publication of Aryna Sabalenka's photo on the cover of the iconic Time magazine, the media predictably circulated opinions suggesting that "she does much more for Belarus's future than, say, political prisoners" and that she is "our modern heroine" and "a role model." It might have been easier to accept these statements back in 2018 when many of the authors were not particularly interested in politics themselves. However, now several questions arise.
