Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs visited Piedruja, a village on the Latvian-Belarusian border, on August 17. During his visit, he addressed the shortage of border guards and technical equipment at the border, the increasing migration pressure, and the potential closure of border crossings with Belarus.
