In the summer of 2025, following negotiations with the United States, Belarus began releasing political prisoners. However, along with the releases, a new practice emerged: people were taken out of the country almost immediately. This is precisely the subject of a new report by the Belarusian Association of Journalists titled "Release Through Exile: The Expulsion of Political Prisoner Journalists from Belarus." Its authors believe that forced expulsion may constitute not only a violation of human rights, but also a crime against humanity.
