The deadline is approaching for foreigners in Ukraine, including Belarusians, to renew their residence permits: 4 August. Belsat has already reported that the situation is serious: Belarusian citizens whose national passports have expired risk losing their legal residence status. We discuss possible solutions with lawyer Yauhen Hushchankou, head of the Committee of the Council of Lawyers of the Lviv Region and member of the expert council under Ukraine’s Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, and with Anastasiya Makhamet, deputy representative of the United Transitional Cabinet for social policy.
