Minsk creates special commission to evaluate symbolism, media for signs of extremism

Authorities in the Belarusian capital are establishing a new city commission tasked with evaluating symbolism, media, and other information products for signs of extremism — the latest expansion of a sprawling state apparatus that has increasingly criminalized dissent.
