Belarusians celebrate Freedom Day on March 25. For some, it marks the proclamation of Belarus’s independence. For others, it is a joyous holiday tinged with bitterness. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, head of the United Transitional Cabinet, recorded a video message for Freedom Day. She recalled that 108 years ago, “the people firmly declared to the whole world: Belarus has the right to its own state.”
