Alyaksandr Lukashenka unexpectedly declared 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. Experts interviewed by Belsat fear that this initiative will not lead to anything good: the authorities will not do anything useful, but will only reinforce the idea that women in Belarus should only give birth and work.
