Prison, faith, and the future: Pavel Seviarynets on five years behind bars

Pavel Seviarynets spent over five and a half years behind bars. After his release in December 2025, he was taken out of Belarus, and in Vilnius, he embraced his wife Volha and son Frantsishak for the first time in a long while. We spoke with Pavel about the conditions of his imprisonment and how he experienced fatherhood in prison, his view on the role of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and the path of democratic forces, what he plans to do next – and why, despite everything, he says: “We will definitely return.”
