After 4.5 years in prison, former political prisoner, founder of the Viasna Human Rights Center, and 2022 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski has not yet fully adapted to freedom. In an interview with Katsiaryna Yerusalimskaya for Belsat, he talks about the cold and loneliness of solitary confinement, the constant psychological pressure in the colony, and why, even without physical violence, prison remains a form of torture. He also shares that he does not regret not leaving Belarus himself, is very proud of Belarusians, and believes that there is hope for a better future.
