Belsat cameraman Viachaslau Lazarau, 49, is one of the political prisoners released and transferred to Lithuania on September 11. His family, including his young daughter, remained in Belarus, preventing Viachaslau from thoroughly enjoying his freedom. Three years ago, to force the journalist to testify, officers detained his wife and literally ripped their infant child from the mother's breast. Viachaslau recalls the events of those days, his experiences in prison, and the circumstances of his release in a conversation we had in connection with the 18th anniversary of Belsat's founding.
