Belarus has been experiencing a demographic decline for over two decades. The number of births doesn't even provide for simple population replacement, meaning that the Belarusian population is shrinking every year. Anastasia Babrova, PhD in Economics and Director of the Center for Human Development and Demography at the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, presented these figures during the Unified Information Days held nationwide on October 16.
