Belarus has introduced a "legal penalty" for creditors from "unfriendly countries"

The Council of Ministers of Belarus approved Resolution No. 480 of September 3, 2025, which introduces a mechanism for "legal penalty" for credit agreements and loans. It was published on the National Legal Internet Portal. The document was adopted to implement the Decree of Alyaksandr Lukashenka No. 93 of March 2022 "On additional measures to ensure the stable functioning of the economy."
