Belarusian Vladislav Khandogiy made his mark at the 23rd Jose Iturbi International Piano Competition in Valencia, Spain, held on June 4-14. This is reported by the publication "Belarus and the World".
The jury awarded our compatriot second place, which brought him a prize of 20 thousand Euros and an engagement to participate in a concert tour. In addition, Vladyslav Khandogiy received two more special awards: the Audience Award (two thousand Euros) and the prize for the best performance of a concerto by Ludwig van Beethoven (two thousand Euros).
The first place in the competition was taken by the Israeli Nabil Hayek, the third - by the Italian Ruggero Fiorella. In total, applications for participation were received from about 200 applicants from 40 countries.
Vladislav Khandogiy was born in 2001 in Minsk in a family of musicians. He studied at the Republican Gymnasium-College at the Belarusian State Academy of Music, then at the Central Music School at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and since 2020 he has been continuing his studies at the conservatory.
Winner of the V Sviridov International Competition for Youth Performing Arts in St. Petersburg (2013), the II Astana Piano Passion International Competition for Young Pianists and the XV International Television Competition for Young Musicians "The Nutcracker" (2014). Laureate of the II International Competition for Young Pianists Grand Piano Competition in Moscow (2018), diploma recipient of the X International Gina Bachauer Competition for Young Pianists in Salt Lake City (USA, 2016). Scholarship holder of the New Names Foundation (Russia).
In 2021, he won first prize at the XXXII Ferrol International Competition (Spain). He also won first prizes at the Sanremo International Piano Competition and La Palma d'Oro in Italy. In 2022, he became a finalist of one of the most prestigious international competitions named after Ven Clyburn in Texas (USA).
He performs in the cities of Russia, Belarus, France, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and other countries. He recorded a solo disc in 2016.
